Dear Students,
For the past three years RTS has been at work to improve the software solutions we use to support students. I am pleased to announce that, in early October, we will be rolling out a new system for academic records and student billing: Jenzabar One.
Jenzabar One and its portal JICS will replace everything (and more) that is currently done within PowerCAMPUS and the Self-Service portal.
How will this immediately affect you?
Self-Service Turned Off at 12:01am ET 9/28
We will take a final snapshot of the data in PowerCAMPUS and Self-Service early on September 28, 2023, after which use of these systems will be restricted. We anticipate that Jenzabar One will be up and running approximately two weeks later (the week of October 16).
Self-Service will not be accessible, and PowerCAMPUS will be in view-only mode. This means:
Students will be unable to add or drop classes through Self-Service or make payments on their accounts after September 27.
Faculty and registrars will not be able to enter final grades in PowerCAMPUS or Self-Service.
The finance office will be delayed in their ability to process student refunds for courses dropped after September 27.
The Global campus will not offer October start dates for their courses. If you plan to take an online course this fall and cannot
wait until November 8, you should plan to register for the course for the September 13 or 27 start date.
Canvas Access Unaffected
Canvas is not going anywhere and will be largely unaffected during this time. You will still have complete access to your courses and course materials for both online and residential courses.
Looking Ahead
The RTS team is excited about the new tools that this system provides to better serve our students, faculty, and staff. We will be sending further communications throughout September to answer FAQs about navigating the changeover period, introduce you to Jenzabar One and the new portal JICS, and highlight new features coming soon for students. Your campus registrar is also ready to assist with questions as they arise.
